A newborn baby was found in a box near a garbage chute in the Leningrad Region, and a criminal case has been opened. This was announced on September 4 by the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Leningrad region.
"A newborn female child was found in a box near a garbage chute in the entrance of a house on Leningradskaya Street in Vsevolozhsk," the department's Telegram channel says.
According to a source in Izvestia, the girl was presumably born at 34-35 weeks, and she is now in serious condition in intensive care.
"The baby was born prematurely, the baby is alive, brought to the hospital. She is under medical supervision, and her mother is under medical supervision," Tolstova Tatyana Nikolaevna, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Leningrad Region, said.
It is clarified that a criminal case has been opened into the incident on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of art. 30, art. 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder by the mother of a newborn").
"The girl's mother was taken to the intensive care unit with internal bleeding. She was previously convicted of murder, the alleged father of the child also has problems with the law," the source told Izvestia.
Before that, on August 31, a resident of Moscow gave birth to a baby and left it in the toilet. It was clarified that the woman could not finish the job because her roommate called an ambulance. The child was promptly taken to the city hospital.
