The head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, said that the Russian economy is cooling faster than expected. He spoke about this on September 4 on the sidelines of the All-Russian Economic Forum (WEF).

"The latest data suggests that the economy is cooling faster than expected. As part of the forecast preparation, our analysts calculate various options, including stressful ones. We are assessing all the factors and challenges, the current dynamics, and the situation in the global economy," Reshetnikov said.

In addition, he said that a number of indicators in the baseline scenario will be adjusted compared to the April scenario conditions.

On August 20, the Ministry of Economic Development published a document "On the current price situation," according to which inflation in Russia slowed to 8.46% in annual terms. Thus, food prices decreased by 0.2%.

On August 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the reduction in inflation an important achievement. As of July, it was 8.8%.
