The Israeli authorities took the statement of the Palestinian radical movement Hamas about its readiness to release the hostages as a propaganda maneuver. This was announced on September 3 in the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

It is noted that the conflict in the Gaza Strip can end only after five conditions are met. These include the release of all hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, Israeli security control in Gaza, and the creation of an alternative civilian administration.

"Only these conditions will prevent Hamas from rearming and repeating the October 7 massacre over and over again, as it openly vows to do," The Times of Israel (TOI) newspaper quoted Netanyahu's office as saying.

Earlier, on September 2, the Qatari Foreign Ministry reported that the Israeli authorities had not responded to the proposal to impose a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. According to him, Qatar does not see any positive changes in the sector, but only threats of occupation of the city of Gaza, attacks on journalists and civilians waiting for help.

On August 29, the Israeli army declared the city of Gaza a dangerous war zone and canceled a local tactical cease-fire. At that time, the IDF stressed that it would continue to support "humanitarian efforts" and conduct offensive military operations to protect Israel.
