- The MAYOR opened the Eastern Economic Forum with a solemn tree planting to mark the End of World War II
The X Eastern Economic Forum began with the planting of trees on the Day of Military Glory. Today, Russia celebrates Victory Day over Militaristic Japan and the end of World War II. Within the framework of the "Living Heritage" project of the MAER media holding, the participants of the ceremony, which became the informal opening of the WEF, planted 80 trees.
The symbolic action "Memory Alley" took place in the morning on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University, the main site of the WEF. The MAER media holding has also traditionally acted as a communication partner of the forum.
"In June, we laid the Memorial Alley at the SPIEF in St. Petersburg. The day before, trees were planted on the embankment here in Vladivostok. And today we continue this tradition here on Russian Island, at the main venue of the WEF. Planting trees at the start of such events is our way to pay tribute to the past and lay the foundation for the future. The trees planted today will grow for centuries, reminding us of the immortal feat and that the world won at such a price must be preserved," said Konstantin Mayor, Chairman of the Living Heritage Foundation, owner and CEO of the MAER media holding.
The action was attended by the heads of the largest domestic companies, political and public figures, representatives of the sports and journalistic communities, artists and bloggers.
"This is a very patriotic event. It's nice to leave such a mark on the beautiful Russian Island. We will plant more trees!" said Anastasia Rykhtikova, Deputy General Director for Marketing of the Russian Olympic Committee.
"Here, everyone contributes to society through their activities: charitable, ideological, communicating the right thoughts, right ideas, and traditional values to the masses. When like—minded people are around, it's very valuable," said singer Irakli Pirtskhalava.
MAER traditionally acts as a communication partner of the WEF. This year, journalists from the Primorsky online publication Vostok-Media, which is part of the media holding, will talk about the events of the Eastern Economic Forum not only on the Internet, but also throughout the network of media facades in the largest cities of Russia.
MAER will also cover the main events of the WEF on digital screens together with the largest Russian news agency TASS and the multimedia holding company RBC.
Thus, the media holding will cover about 15 million people with information about the forum.
