Sberbank appreciated the popularity of the Vzhuh service
Sberbank's new Vzhuh service has been used by over 1.6 million unique iPhone users. These figures were provided by the bank, noting that in the first week of the service's operation, users made 5 million payments using it.
According to the bank's press service, the largest transaction during this period was a payment in the amount of more than 3 million rubles at a car dealership in St. Petersburg. The most popular "Whoosh" was when paying for purchases in grocery stores and pharmacies.
Sberbank returned the opportunity to pay for purchases with a smartphone to the owners of Apple equipment on August 25. "Vzhuh" works on the basis of Bluetooth Low Energy technology.
Sberbank recalled that during the year they carried out large-scale refinement and updating of the terminal fleet for the possibility of making payments via Bluetooth. The technology is now available on 90% of the bank's new terminals, and by the end of September, the service will be available on 100% of biometric terminals (more than 1.2 million).
Payment is available on any account, regardless of the type of bank card (MIR, Visa, Mastercard), and purchases can be made even if the customer's device is not connected to the Internet. The technology complies with all security standards used in the payment industry, the press service of Sberbank added.
According to Kirill Tsarev, first deputy chairman of the Board of Sberbank, Vzhukh has become "the most successful among all the payment methods we have launched," and the number of payers who have used the new service in a week is "several orders of magnitude higher than the same indicator for other payment methods." "Payment using the Fast Payment System gained the same number of active users only six months after launch, and Apple Pay — only a year and one month later," he said.
