Tusk announced a difference of opinion on all issues with Polish President Nawrocki.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that he disagrees with the new president of the country, Karol Nawrocki, on almost all issues, but they should be united on security issues and relations with the United States. He made such a statement on September 3 at the international defense industry exhibition.
He shared that he had asked Nawrocki to demonstrate to US President Donald Trump Poland's unity in matters of security, international politics and relations with Washington.
"We disagree on almost every issue, we argue, we quarrel. This is democracy <...>, but we must be united on these issues," tvn24 quoted Tusk as saying.
At the same time, the Polish Prime Minister noted that the priority task for the Government of the republic is to maximize participation in all projects related to armaments, the defense industry and the national security infrastructure.
According to him, Poland currently spends most of its GDP on defense compared to other NATO member countries. Tusk clarified that it is planned to further increase these expenditures to 5% of GDP in 2026.
Earlier, on August 27, it was reported about the growing conflict between the Tusk government and the Navrotsky administration on the issue of assistance to Ukrainian refugees. Minister of Digital Technologies Krzysztof Havkowski, in turn, accused the Polish president of allegedly "supporting Russian imperialism" in Ukraine. This became the veto of the head of state to help unemployed refugees.
