The Russian government has established coal transportation privileges for new regions of Russia

The Russian government has established new preferential tariffs for coal transportation in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. This was announced on September 3 by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

"On behalf of the president, the government has set preferential tariffs for coal transportation in new regions. A reduction factor of 0.48 has been set for such shipments," the government's Telegram channel says.

The reduction coefficient will apply to coal transportation carried out by the FSUE "Railways of Novorossiya".

It is specified that this decision was made to provide support to new regions of Russia, as well as to help preserve their economic potential.

Earlier, on August 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, called for paying special attention to the coal industry in the region. In addition, issues of water supply, rehabilitation of housing stock and development of the healthcare system in the region were discussed during the meeting.
