Krasnoyarsk man sentenced to 10 years in prison for financing terrorism

A resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was sentenced to 10 years in prison in a case of involvement in financing the activities of a terrorist organization. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the region on Wednesday, September 3.

"Employees of the regional headquarters have established that a resident of the Kirovsky district, born in 1989, made 13 money transfers using mobile applications to various electronic accounts belonging to an organization recognized as terrorist by the 2nd Western District Military Court from September 2021 to August 2024," the report said.

The fact of the criminal act was revealed in early 2025 by the staff of the Center for Countering Extremism. Special forces soldiers from the Russian Guard Directorate in the Krasnoyarsk Territory helped in the arrest of the suspect. As a result, a search was conducted at the man's place of residence, during which his phone and electronic media were seized.

A criminal case was initiated under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 and Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court sentenced the man to 10 years in prison.

Earlier, on August 25, a court sentenced a resident of the Trans-Baikal Territory to 10 years in prison for financing an extremist organization. According to the regional prosecutor's office, he made five money transfers in excess of 1,000 rubles to the account of an extremist organization.
