The United States may change its position on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine if there is no progress after the August 15 summit in Alaska. This was announced on September 2 by the American President Donald Trump.

"I had a very good meeting with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. Let's see what happens. If nothing happens, we will take a different position," Trump said in a conversation with reporters.
