More than a third of respondents (37%) do not consider it possible to let a child go to school alone until the 3rd-5th grade. At the same time, a quarter of the respondents are not ready to send their children to school unaccompanied at all. Analysts of the developer SK10 told Izvestia about this on September 2.

Only 20% of parents believe that children can be left alone, and another 18% are ready to entrust an independent path to school only to students of grade 6 and older.

The question of how to organize the children's way to school causes a lot of opinions among parents. According to the survey, a significant proportion of parents (31%) believe that their children will be able to get to school on their own. However, the question of who will accompany the children is no less important.: 21% of respondents assume that it will be mom, 17% — babysitter, 16% — dad, and 15% — grandparents or older siblings.

One of the key factors influencing the decision on escort is the security of the area, as mentioned by 15% of respondents. The distance of the school from home (13%) and the indecision of the child (11%) also play an important role. It is noteworthy that for the vast majority (61% of parents), all of these factors become decisive when deciding on escorts.

However, parents also express concerns about the possible negative consequences of constant accompaniment. More than half (51%) of the respondents are afraid that such a practice may lead to the fact that the child will grow up to be independent. In addition, 19% of parents face the need to adjust their work schedule to their child's schedule. Also, 19% say that dependence on the help of relatives can become a problem, and 11% are forced to choose a remote mode of work.

"When an educational institution is nearby, and the path to it is safe, well-lit and can be tracked by video surveillance cameras, parents can rest assured for the safety of their children. And the children themselves, by attending school unaccompanied, gain independence faster," the study noted.

On August 31, analysts at Skysmart, an online school for children and teenagers, told Izvestia that every sixth parent is happy about the start of the school season and the child's return to school, and a third feels nostalgic about their own school years.
