Cars of the revived Volga brand are created in cooperation with Geely. This was announced on September 2 by the Telegram channel "Russian Automobile etc".

According to an insider, a Volga office will open in Moscow very soon, and employees have already been recruited. The presentation of the project will also take place soon.

The Volga line of cars was presented to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin on May 21 last year. All models received a gasoline engine with a capacity of 188 hp (300 Nm) in conjunction with a seven-speed automatic. They never went on sale.

At that time, it was reported that production of cars would begin in 2024 at the site of the Nizhny Novgorod automobile cluster, and from 2025 it was planned to start assembling Volga cars in full cycle mode. According to Izvestia, the prototypes for the three Volga models last year were cars from the Chinese automobile company Changan. The volume of investments in the project for the production of new Volga brand cars will exceed 60 billion rubles, the press service of the Volga brand said.

In the spring of 2025, Passenger Car Manufacturing JSC announced that it was continuing to work on a project to produce a new Volga car.
