US President Donald Trump's attempts to distance Russia, India and China from each other have not brought significant results and have even strengthened the partnership between the countries. This was reported on September 1 by the Axios portal.

The authors of the publication vividly illustrated this fact with a vivid episode of the leaders' meeting at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), during which the heads of the three countries held hands together.

"Trump is actively trying to drive a wedge between India and Russia, while simultaneously seeking to gradually distance Russia from China. Therefore, the image of all three leaders literally holding hands is at least a symbolic blow," the article says.

It is noted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting China for the first time in seven years. He could have been motivated to work more closely with partners from Eurasia by tariffs and threats from Trump, the portal notes.

A similar opinion was expressed on the same day on the pages of The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper. It is reported that the leaders of Russia, China and India demonstrated unity at the SCO summit, sending a "powerful signal" to Washington amid US attempts to contain China and sever ties with Russia.

Chinese media also reported that Putin's visit to the SCO summit clearly shows the unity of China and Russia. The article also noted that the countries' determination contributes to the development of domestic trade in trade, energy and technology.
