Nestle fired CEO Laurent Freixet over affair with subordinate
Nestle replaced its CEO after an internal investigation revealed a violation of the corporate code by the former head of the company, Laurent Freixet. He entered into a secret romantic relationship with a subordinate. This was announced on September 1 by the company's press service.
Philip Navratil, who has worked at Nestle for more than 20 years, became the new CEO. He has established himself as a strategist and leader in the coffee and beverage segment.
"It was a necessary decision. Nestle's values and management are the solid foundation of our company," said Paul Bulke, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Navratil noted that he intends to continue the company's strategic course.
"It is a great honor for me to assume responsibility for Nestle's leadership in the future. I look forward to working closely with management to accelerate the implementation of plans and strengthen growth," Navratil said.
The company stressed that the strategic vector will remain unchanged, and efforts will be focused on improving efficiency and brand development.
Earlier, on July 20, it was reported about a scandalous incident involving Andy Byron, CEO of the American IT company Astronomer. At a Coldplay concert in Boston, he was seen in the arms of an employee of his company, Kristin Cabot. The Board of Directors approved Byron's decision to resign and began the search for a new CEO.
