The flotilla of Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg with humanitarian aid was unable to reach the Gaza Strip due to the storm and as a result returned to the port of Barcelona. This was reported on September 1 by the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia.

"The Global Summit flotilla, consisting of about twenty boats loaded with humanitarian aid, with tons of food and medicines, <...> decided to return due to weather conditions," the publication says.

As the newspaper noted, at the moment, sending the flotilla allegedly represents one of the important missions to break the blockade that Israel has imposed on the Gaza Strip.

On the same day, the Israel Hayom newspaper, citing informed sources, reported that Israel was considering a plan to place Thunberg, who was once again trying to reach the Gaza Strip, in a terrorist prison. It is noted that prisoners are kept there in strict conditions: they are forbidden to watch TV and listen to the radio, and they are also provided with fairly meager food.

Thunberg announced her intention to visit Gaza on August 11. According to her, in addition to "the largest attempt to break the illegal Israeli blockade in Gaza," eco-activists around the world are organizing actions in support of Palestine, which will be held in 44 countries around the world.
