The turnover of Moscow's fashion industry has grown 1.5 times in five years
The total turnover of the Moscow fashion industry has increased 1.5 times in five years, exceeding 255 billion rubles by the end of 2024, said Deputy Mayor of the capital Natalia Sergunina. She noted that the brands continue to expand their presence in the domestic and international markets, including through urban programs.
"The promotion of the capital's manufacturers in Russia and abroad is an important area of our work. One of the key tools is the Made in Moscow program," Sergunina emphasized, adding that every fifth of its residents belongs to the fashion industry. The online showroom of the Made in Moscow project features 15,000 items of clothing, shoes, accessories, and jewelry. This is more than 40% of the total number of goods, the deputy mayor said.
The program participants also place their products on the shelves of five branded offline stores, participate in city events and major specialized events. Thus, as part of the "Summer in Moscow" project, art pavilions of the "Made in Moscow" program have been opened in the capital.
In addition, representatives of the fashion industry can receive a grant for patenting products in Russia and abroad, and conduct pilot testing of new materials on urban sites. Moscow entrepreneurs can also take out a preferential loan, choose a production facility, and reimburse the costs of equipment and employee training.
In addition, entrepreneurs involved in the industry are supported by the Moscow Export Center, which regularly organizes trips to international exhibitions and forums. The geography of the capital's fashion brands exports covers promising markets in countries such as China, India, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
Major industry events are also held in the capital. On September 2, the fifth Moscow Fashion Week ends in the capital. Over the previous four seasons, the participants agreed to conclude contracts totaling 660 million rubles, the Moscow authorities said.
