There are several rules that must be followed so that the bank does not consider the transfer or withdrawal of money from an ATM suspicious. This was announced by financial market expert Andrey Barkhota on Monday, September 1.
From September, Russian banks will be able to limit the issuance of cash to 50 thousand rubles in two days if employees suspect that they are being withdrawn by intruders, RT reports. It is specified that the bank servicing the citizen's card is obliged to verify the operation using a special list of signs of suspicious transactions, NSN reports.
Suspicious signs that allow you to limit cash withdrawals include cases when a client, under the influence of scammers, can withdraw money within a day after applying for a loan, increases the limit on cash withdrawal, transfers more than 200 thousand rubles to his account using SBP from his account with another bank, closes a deposit for a similar amount ahead of schedule, This is transmitted by Regnum News agency.
"Before making a money transfer or withdrawing cash, you need to consider whether your operation may seem suspicious to the bank. The frequency, amount, or location of the ATM may be relevant here. Anything that goes beyond the usual can alert banks," Barkhota warned in an interview with Paragraph.
So, if you have not transferred or withdrawn a large amount before, it is better to split it into parts or do it at the cash register. Also, an active conversation of the client on the phone on the eve of the operation can become a marker for the bank.
"It is also important to fill in the transfer destination field in mobile banking. Many people consider it superfluous, but it is better to specify the purpose of the transfer so that the operation does not arouse suspicion. When blocked, there will be something to appeal to," the specialist concluded.
