The tourist flow to Crimea exceeded five million people
The tourist flow to Crimea in January – August of this year exceeded 5.3 million people, which is 15% more than in 2024. This was announced on September 1 by the head of the republic Sergey Aksenov.
"During the three summer months in our region, according to the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea, 3 million 775 thousand people rested, which is 15% higher than last year," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to statistics provided by Aksyonov, 61% of tourists arrived in the republic via the Crimean Bridge by cars and buses, 23% used rail transport, and 16% arrived through other regions of the Russian Federation.
The south coast traditionally remains the most popular Crimean destination, 43% of vacationers came here, more than a third of vacationers chose the west coast, and 15% chose the east coast.
The Saki city facilities were the most heavily loaded — 78%, as well as Yevpatoria and Yalta — 77% and 76%, respectively, the head of Crimea said.
Aksyonov stressed that experts note that Crimea has become a leader in the growth of tourist flow in the country.
On August 6, experts informed Izvestia about a record increase in Russian demand for holidays in Crimea. The demand for booking accommodation in Crimea this summer increased by one and a half times compared to 2024 and doubled compared to 2023. This makes the republic the fastest growing tourist destination among all Russian regions.
