The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced the official completion of the OSCE Minsk process

The Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has decided to close the Minsk process related to the settlement of the Karabakh conflict and related structures. This was announced on September 1 by the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

"On September 1, 2025, the OSCE Ministerial Council decided to close the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures," the department's Telegram channel says.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry notes that this decision was made on the basis of a joint appeal from Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The OSCE secretariat has been instructed to resolve all organizational and technical issues related to the liquidation of these structures by December 1, 2025. The institute of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on the conflict and high-level planning groups are subject to closure, among others.

Also, all decisions previously adopted within the OSCE regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict are no longer valid and cannot be applied.

"Thus, the closure of these institutions was formalized, and all OSCE participating states recognized that the above-mentioned institutions, which were once created to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, have lost their relevance in the new conditions of conflict resolution," the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

The Ministry stressed that the adoption of this decision is an important step towards the practical implementation of the agreements reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Earlier, on August 8, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a declaration on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Washington. It is noted that during the meeting, Pashinyan and Aliyev agreed to end the confrontation and resume diplomatic relations.
