Overchuk spoke about the importance of cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan
Economic relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are important for both countries. This was announced to journalists on September 1 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.
"We held an intergovernmental commission, and in the field of economics, we noted from both sides that our cooperation is developing. And the cooperation that exists between Russia and Azerbaijan is very important for our two countries," Overchuk said.
He also noted that Moscow is actively working to improve relations with Baku.
On August 31, Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, who are at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in China, have not yet spoken, but members of the Russian delegation are already in active contact with their Azerbaijani counterparts.
On May 28, Putin said that relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are friendly and allied. He also expressed confidence that through joint efforts, the two countries will be able to further enhance constructive bilateral cooperation and partnership in international affairs.
