Musk predicted the extinction of Europe while maintaining the current birth rate
Europe is facing extinction if the birth rate does not rise. This was announced on August 30 by American billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk.
In this way, the billionaire reacted to a message from American Senator Mike Lee, who cited statistics on the number of deaths and births in Scotland. According to the senator, from January to July of this year, 26.3 thousand people were born in the country, while the number of deaths was 35.2 thousand.
"If the birth rate does not at least return to the reproduction rate, Europe will die out," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The Franceinfo TV channel, citing a report by the French National Institute of Statistics (INSEE) on July 23, reported that in France the number of deaths per year exceeded the number of births for the first time since 1945. According to Franceinfo, a negative trend was planned by INSEE for 2035. A sharp decrease in the birth rate and an increase in mortality indicates an acceleration of demographic changes.
