North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met with family members of Korean servicemen who died in the special military operation zone. This was reported on August 30 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

He stressed that the state is wholeheartedly ready to support the families of the victims so that they can find a new, happy life in Pyongyang, surrounded by national respect and admiration.
At the end of the meeting, Kim Jong-un presented all the family members present with portraits of their deceased relatives, symbolically wrapped in the flag of the DPRK, and took several photos.
KCNA reported on August 22 that Kim Jong-un attended an event in honor of the soldiers of the Korean People's Army (KPA) who participated in the operation to liberate the Kursk region. The Head of State, along with military personnel and unit commanders, attended a concert on the occasion of the veterans' return.
