On August 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with the Chinese Xinhua news agency, said that Russia and China were in favor of United Nations (UN) reforms.

"Russia and China are in favor of reforming the World Organization so that it can fully restore its authority and meet modern realities," Putin is quoted as saying on the Kremlin's website.
