People's Artist of the USSR Rodion Shchedrin and ballerina Maya Plisetskaya had no children, so the composer's property may go to the state. This assumption was made on August 29 by Alexander Khaminsky, a lawyer and head of the law enforcement center in Moscow and the Moscow Region.

"Rodion Shchedrin was married to the Bolshoi Ballet ballerina Maya Plisetskaya, but they had no children. According to the law, the heirs of the first stage are the children, spouse and parents of the testator. Thus, given the fact that Maya Plisetskaya died back in 2015, Shchedrin has no first—line heirs," Khaminsky told RIA Novosti.

He pointed out that if no heirs of other queues are identified within six months, the composer's property will receive the status of extortionate and will be transferred to the state.
