Ryabkov pointed to Europe's sabotage of the Alaska summit agreements
Kiev and the authorities of European states are openly sabotaging the agreements reached between the Russian Federation and the United States during the summit in Alaska. This was stated on August 29 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov in an interview with reporters.
"We proceed from the fact that there will be no deviations from these [the understandings reached in Anchorage and Washington]. We hope that this is how the situation in Kiev and in European capitals, where there is outright sabotage, will eventually be perceived. Today, it is impossible to call the actions in any other way," TASS quoted the diplomat as saying.
He added that Moscow is doing serious work to prevent opponents from disrupting the results of the meeting between the leaders of the United States and Russia, Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. At the same time, the Russian Federation expects that the US administration will also continue to work in accordance with the outlined agreements.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier on Friday that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky continues to take steps aimed at sabotaging the negotiation process on the Ukrainian conflict. In particular, he told foreign journalists about Kiev's refusal to legally recognize the irretrievably lost territories as Russian, repeating "his delusional maxims about their occupation," the diplomat said.
On the same day, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance noted that the list of disagreements on Ukraine after negotiations between the United States and Russia with the participation of the special representative of the American president, Steve Witkoff, was reduced to two points - problems of security guarantees and territorial concessions.
