Four defendants in the case of the terrorist attack in Crocus asked to be released from jail

The lawyers of the four defendants in the case of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert Hall asked to choose a milder measure of restraint for their clients. This was reported to Izvestia on August 29 by the lawyer of 132 victims, Ksenia Trunova.

"Appeals have been filed by the defendant [Aminchon] Islomov, the lawyer in defense of [Dilovar] Islomov, the lawyer in defense of [Nuzrimad] Lutfulloi, the lawyer in defense of [Husen] Medov (all recognized in Russia as terrorists and extremists). In these complaints, the court ruling asks to cancel and choose another more lenient measure of restraint," she said.

Trunova clarified that during the trial, the accused sit in a cage, face down, and react indifferently to court decisions. The lawyer also added that the Second Western District Military Court is currently examining the evidence of the prosecution, interrogating the victims and reading out their testimony.

Three of the perpetrators pleaded guilty, and one more partially

Earlier, on August 15, participants in the trial of the terrorist attack in Crocus reported that the verdict could be announced before the new year. It was clarified that three meetings are held on this case "almost without delay" every week. The trial of the defendants began on August 4, and it is taking place behind closed doors.

Trunova reported on August 5 that one of the defendants in the case offered the victims 1,000 rubles each as compensation for "moral and physical suffering."

The terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall was staged by terrorists on March 22, 2024. As a result of the tragedy, 149 people died, one was missing, and another 609 were injured.
