Composer Rodion Shchedrin was a man who made everyone fall in love with himself. This was announced on August 29 by People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Tsiskaridze.

"Rodion Konstantinovich Shchedrin, a Soviet and Russian composer, pianist, and music teacher, has died. A man who made everyone fall in love with himself," Tsiskaridze wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, Shchedrin's works have been successfully performed all over the world, and cellist, pianist and conductor Mstislav Rostropovich called the composer a genius during his lifetime.

The death of the composer at the age of 93 became known on August 29. The press service of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia noted that Shchedrin is an epoch in the life of world musical culture. His works have been performed on all stages of the world for many decades.

People's Artist of Russia and founder of the Vivaldi Orchestra Svetlana Bezrodnaya, in a conversation with Izvestia on the same day, called Shchedrin a colossus of the great era and noted that his music and the horizon of creativity are eternal.
