In St. Petersburg, fraudsters extorted 20 million rubles from a pensioner. This was announced on August 29 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
It turns out that an unknown person called the 84-year-old pensioner and informed him that it was necessary to transfer his money to Svyaznoy in order to catch the criminals. So, the pensioner provided the scammers with a sum of money in the amount of 20 million rubles.
"A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud")," follows from the Telegram channel.

Earlier, on August 20, in St. Petersburg, an 88-year-old pensioner gave 3.1 million rubles to fraudsters to allegedly save her savings from a fictional attack by intruders. It was clarified that the woman met with an unknown girl at her apartment in Vasileostrovsky district and handed her the funds.
