Sobyanin announced a decrease in mortality from stroke in Moscow
Thanks to the creation of a single network of several hospitals in Moscow, it was possible to reduce stroke mortality by 15%. The number of saved heart attack patients has also more than doubled in the capital, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told the MAX channel.
Heart attack and stroke are still among the most common causes of death in the world, the mayor of Moscow recalled. "To reduce these risks, Moscow has built an effective system of medical care, from prevention to rehabilitation," Sobyanin said.
A single infarction network united 19 hospitals. The stroke network includes 13 hospitals and the Morozovskaya Children's Hospital. The hospitals are equipped with modern equipment, and routing has been established. Thanks to the measures taken, the time from the moment the brigade arrives to the start of the operation does not exceed 40 minutes on average, Sobyanin noted. The recovery period after surgery was reduced to 2-3 days.
"Early diagnosis is also a priority. Muscovites with chronic heart and vascular diseases are monitored by doctors according to an individual program," the mayor emphasized.
According to him, special attention is also paid in Moscow to comprehensive rehabilitation. "It begins in the first 48 hours after the patient is admitted to the hospital. This minimizes serious consequences and helps to recover faster," Sobyanin said.
