The first racket of Russia, tennis player Mirra Andreeva, reached the third round of the US Open Tennis Championship (US Open), beating compatriot Anastasia Potapova. The competition was held on August 28 in New York.

The athletes spent one hour and 16 minutes on the court. The match ended with the score 6:1, 6:3.

In the third round, Andreeva will face American athlete Taylor Townsend, who is the 139th racket of the world.

On August 27, Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova completed her performance in the second round of the US Open singles tournament, losing to Belarusian athlete Victoria Azarenka with a score of 6:3, 6:3. The match lasted one hour and 27 minutes.
