More than 90% of Russians are proud of their country, its history and cultural achievements. The most active support is expressed by the younger generation of 18-24 years old. This was announced on August 27 by Valery Fedorov, Director General of VTsIOM, speaking at a panel discussion of the Expert Institute for Social Research at the Rossiya National Center.

Most of all, sports, scientific and military achievements arouse pride. They also value the qualities of their compatriots themselves: kindness, mutual assistance and friendliness, as well as adherence to traditional values.

"Despite all the difficulties, challenges and risks, most citizens are confident that Russia is at the forefront of development. The survey confirms a tectonic shift in the self—esteem of our country's residents," Fedorov stressed.

The discussion also discussed the influence of prominent Russians on the promotion of achievements, educational programs for young people and channels for delivering relevant information.

According to Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, today educational institutions train not just professionals, but patriots of their field, technological leaders who are ready and able to strengthen the technological sovereignty of the country.

As part of the event, the official launch of the competition track "The State" of the "Flagships of Education" project of the presidential platform "Russia — the land of Opportunities" took place. The purpose of this track is to develop civic literacy and determine the teacher's place in the organization of social processes.

The Expert Institute for Social Research (EISI) is a Russian independent analytical and research organization engaged in conducting social and political research. EISI focuses on an in-depth analysis of socio-economic processes in Russia and abroad, as well as on the development of recommendations for various institutions of government, business and civil society.

On August 22, it was reported that, according to the results of a sociological survey, 72% of Russians feel proud when publicly displaying the national flag. It is clarified that 67% of respondents consider the Day of the National Flag of Russia to be significant, and the perception of its importance has not changed over the past year. At the same time, the majority of respondents correctly indicated that the tricolor was adopted during the period of the Russian Empire, and 25% associate it with the current state of Russia.
