Moscow court fined Twitch and Pinterest for administrative offenses
The Moscow court brought Twitch and Pinterest to administrative responsibility and fined the companies over 61 million rubles and 10 million rubles, respectively. This was announced on August 27 by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of Moscow in the Telegram channel.
It is clarified that Twitch Interactive, Inc. was found guilty of failing to fulfill its obligations regarding the activities of foreign persons on the Internet in the territory of the Russian Federation under Part 2 of Article 13.49 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. The corporation was fined over 61,747,922 rubles. Pinterest received a fine of 6 million rubles for similar offenses.
In addition, Pinterest was found guilty under Articles 19.7.-10-4 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation for non-compliance by the owner of the social network with the instructions of the federal executive authority, which controls and supervises in the field of mass media (Roskomnadzor). The company is obliged to pay 4 million rubles.
Earlier, on July 8, the court fined Twitch 7 million rubles under Article 13.50 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Failure to perform duties by the owner of a social network"). In addition, Google was fined 3.8 million rubles under Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the procedure for restricting access to information, information resources, access to which is subject to restriction in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation on information, information technology and information protection, and (or) the procedure for deleting said information").
