On August 27, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of Russian military personnel in the area of a special military operation.

The ministry noted the actions of junior Sergeant Dmitry Ermolenko, who commanded the calculation of the Msta-S howitzer and carried out a combat mission to destroy fortifications and firepower of the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Thanks to the operational interaction with the aerial reconnaissance units, while in a prepared firing position, the howitzer crew destroyed the enemy's temporary deployment point.

Accurate artillery fire prevented the accumulation of reserves and the transfer of Ukrainian militants to the offensive. The competent and decisive actions of Junior Sergeant Dmitry Ermolenko allowed the enemy unit to be damaged, which significantly weakened the enemy's defenses and supported the advance of Russian troops.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry drew attention to the actions of Guard Sergeant Sergei Vasilistov, who, acting as part of the Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), carried out the task of artillery support for Russian assault units and the destruction of artillery, armored vehicles and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Having received the coordinates of the enemy's unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) control point, the crew arrived in the area of combat use and began preparing the combat vehicle for firing.

While in position, Vasilistov conducted visual surveillance, during which he discovered the drone. Having classified the aerial target as an enemy FPV drone, the soldier promptly warned the personnel about the appearance of the UAV, and then, when the enemy tried to attack the Russian MLRS, he opened fire on the target with small arms.

The drone was hit and fell without causing damage to personnel and equipment. Thanks to Vasilistov's competent and confident actions, the Ukrainian drone was destroyed, the lives of Russian servicemen were saved, and the task of destroying the enemy UAV control center was completed.
