Psychologist Daria Salnikova told us what kind of fragrance will help you tune in to work and activate your brain.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Monday, August 25, the expert noted that the olfactory system is one of the seven sensory organs that affect the brain and a person's mental state. All of them are related to cognitive functions and the nervous system, and this process is called sensory integration: vision, taste, and smell provide new stimuli that activate the brain.

So, citrus aromas help to cheer up, give confidence and activate work. The smell of fresh bread, on the contrary, awakens a feeling of nostalgia, as it is closely related to memory.

According to the psychologist, memory captures not only events and places, but also smells that can evoke strong associations — for example, the perfume of a loved one or the scent of a loved one's skin. There are even special aromatic devices that create similar sensations.

On August 21, Candidate of Medical Sciences Victoria Simonova spoke about the impact of gratitude on mental health. According to her, in the scientific context, gratitude is considered as a complex neuropsychological reaction that affects the brain and the physiology of the body. The expert noted that people who regularly record moments of gratitude improve their emotional state over time and normalize their cortisol levels.

August 19th Pravda.Ru She wrote that perfume is not just a smell: it affects mood, forms an aura and is able to change perception, and warm sensual scents make a particularly strong impression. Fragrance can increase confidence and attractiveness, but more often it's a matter of psychology — faith in its power makes a person more relaxed and visible.

In December, general practitioner Elena Shuraeva explained why odors can make you feel sick. According to her, nausea from odors is a complex phenomenon where physiology, psychology and individual experience intersect. Nausea from odors can be caused by migraines, gastrointestinal infections, fatigue, medications, or pregnancy. If the problem persists, you should consult a doctor, RT notes.

Earlier, psychologist and psychotherapist Ekaterina Tsayukova said that with the help of properly selected fragrances, a woman can not only attract a man she likes, but also ward off someone who is bored.
