In St. Petersburg, a man drowned in the pool of a sports club located on Marshal Zakharov Street. This was announced on August 25 by the press service of the regional directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
"According to preliminary data, on the evening of August 21 of this year, a man choked on water while in the pool of a sports club located on Marshal Zakharov Street. The victim was hospitalized in a medical facility, but later he died," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, which negligently caused the death of a person").
The circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified and the persons responsible for compliance with security requirements at the club are being identified.
On August 20, one man and two children drowned in a pond in the village of Kazinka in the Shpakovsky district of the Stavropol Territory. It was noted that this reservoir was prohibited for swimming.
