In Transbaikalia, investigators have opened a criminal case over a dog attack on a two-year-old child. This was reported on August 25 in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Trans-Baikal Territory.

A criminal case was opened into the incident in accordance with Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence").

"The investigators have started carrying out a complex of investigative measures to establish all the circumstances of the incident. The parents of the injured child will be identified and questioned, and information will be requested from the medical institution about the nature and severity of the injuries," the statement said.

In addition, the investigators will conduct a legal assessment of the activities of officials whose duties include ensuring adequate living conditions for the population. It is specified that the investigation of the criminal case is under the control of the leadership of the regional investigative department.

Earlier, on July 28, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened into the attack of two dogs on a 14-year-old girl in the city of Artyom, Primorsky Krai. The schoolgirl tried to escape from them on a bicycle, but one of the animals bit her. The victim needed the help of doctors.
