Forecaster predicted warming by the end of the week in Moscow
The temperature in Moscow this week will be 3-4 degrees below the climatic norm. However, all models agree that a real surge of heat is expected in the last days of the month, on August 30-31. Tatiana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the Meteonosti news agency, told Izvestia about this on August 25.
"The capital will be in a very warm sector of the Atlantic cyclone, and the thermometer will exceed the mark of + 25 degrees. These days may become one of the warmest this August," she said.
Thus, the working week will have to be experienced in the cool and with rains of varying intensity. Tuesday will be the most unfavorable day. The weather will start to improve by Friday, which is expected to be free of precipitation. On Saturday, despite the brief rain, it will be quite warm.
As for the detailed forecast, on Monday the maximum temperature will be +16...+18 degrees. On Tuesday, due to clouds and rain, daytime temperatures will not rise above +13...+15 degrees, and at night in Moscow the thermometer will drop to +8...+10 degrees.
On Wednesday, the minimum temperature will be within +9...+11 degrees, and the daytime temperature will be +16...+18. The coldest night is expected on Thursday, when the temperature may reach about +9...+10 degrees. It will warm up to +17...+19 degrees on Thursday afternoon. On Friday night it will be +8...+13 degrees, and in the afternoon — +19...+24 degrees. On Saturday, daytime temperatures will reach +22...+27 degrees at night at +10...+15.
"Starting today and until the middle of the week, the wind will be quite dense, in different directions, with a speed of 6-11 meters per second. Strong gusts are not expected, but windy weather will continue," Pozdnyakova added.
On August 24, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said that there would be no more velvet season in Moscow this year. The expert explained that cold nights are to blame for everything — in Moscow the temperature drops below +10 degrees, which is why water bodies cool down quickly.
