Vyacheslav Volodin arrives in Beijing for interparliamentary talks with China

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin arrived in China on an official visit to participate in the tenth meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission of the Russian Federation and China and a number of bilateral meetings. This was announced on August 25 by the press service of the State Duma.

The key topics of the meeting will be countering sanctions pressure, expanding trade and economic ties, protecting historical truth, and developing youth exchanges to strengthen humanitarian cooperation.

"Our country's relations with China are based on the principles of friendship and trust, mutually beneficial cooperation and non—interference in the affairs of sovereign states, as well as the absence of double standards," Volodin stressed.

The Russian delegation included First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov, deputies Alexander Babakov and Boris Chernyshov, head of the LDPR faction Leonid Slutsky, as well as chairmen of relevant committees and senators.

Earlier, on August 24, it was reported about the four-day visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China. The head of state will travel to China this week. During the visit, the delegations of the Russian Federation and China are scheduled to hold talks, as well as participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tianjin.
