A Guard corporal personally inspected the vehicle, identified the malfunction and repaired it, ensuring that ammunition arrived at the position on time.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the courage and determination of Guard Junior Sergeant Sergei Pirozhenko, who performed tasks as part of an aerosol counteraction platoon to install a smoke screen to cover the advancing Russian units.

During the battle, several Russian servicemen were injured in various degrees of severity when they came under enemy artillery fire. Pirozhenko, despite his own wounds, selflessly provided first aid to other victims. Then he organized their evacuation from the danger zone, and when it became necessary to drive the car to take the injured to the hospital, the soldier himself got behind the wheel and ensured the evacuation.
