The Ministry of Education approved the list of compulsory school subjects
On August 24, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation determined the list of compulsory school subjects, the development of which is necessary for a child to receive basic general education.
The 2026/2027 academic year plan will include the following compulsory subjects: "Russian language", "Literature", "Foreign Language", "History", "Social Studies", "Geography", "Mathematics", "Computer Science", "Physics", "Biology", "Chemistry", "Fine Arts", "Music", "Labor (technology)", "Fundamentals of security and protection of the Motherland", as well as "Physical culture", RIA Novosti reports with reference to the relevant document.
In addition, according to the parents, it is possible to teach a student in the programs "Native language", "Native literature" and "Second foreign language".
It is noted that the subject "Mathematics" is divided into three academic courses: "Algebra", "Geometry", and "Probability and Statistics". "History" also includes courses on "History of Russia", "Universal History" and "History of our region".
On August 7, it was reported that enrollment in pre-professional classes in Moscow schools would last until August 25. There are six areas of such training in the capital: engineering, medical, entrepreneurial, psychological and pedagogical, IT and media classes. The Department of Education and Science noted that the programs help students to consciously choose their future profession.: They visit university laboratories, employers' sites, participate in research and can get their first jobs at colleges.
