- Patrushev noted the great potential of the agro-industrial complex of the Stavropol Territory
On August 22, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, as part of a working trip to the Stavropol Territory, held a meeting with the head of the region, Vladimir Vladimirovich, visited a number of enterprises of the agro-industrial complex and noted the great potential of the region for further growth.
"Stavropol Territory is a major economic center of the North Caucasus. At the same time, the region has great potential for further growth of indicators. The agro-industrial complex occupies a special place in the economy. Stavropol Territory is one of the largest recipients of state support aimed at the development of agriculture and rural areas. In 2025, the Russian government has allocated 5.5 billion rubles for this," Patrushev said.
He noted that the Stavropol Territory is traditionally one of the leading regions in harvesting grain and legumes, and this year grain yields are already significantly higher than last year. About 10 million tons were harvested, which is 20% more than was harvested in 2024 as a whole.
In addition, during his working trip, the Deputy Prime Minister assessed the production facilities of the Agro agricultural production cooperative and visited the Tersk Stud Stud Farm, which is one of the largest in Russia for breeding purebred Arabian breeds.
Patrushev also held a meeting on the development of agriculture in the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD). The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and the heads of the regions of the district.
"In 2025, the government allocated more than 500 billion rubles for the development of the Russian agro-industrial complex. All the main mechanisms of state support, including preferential loans, remain in place for farmers. An additional allocation of two billion rubles has been approved to subsidize new loans. The list of support tools continues to be updated. For example, starting this year, participants and veterans of a special military operation will receive a grant to create their own farms," said the deputy chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
He noted that starting in 2026, all support measures for farmers and small businesses will be consolidated in the new federal project "Development of small Agribusiness", which will guarantee a separate limit of funds.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed to the positive dynamics in animal husbandry. According to Patrushev, the harvesting of the new crop is currently in its most active phase. Currently, Russian farmers have already harvested more than 85 million tons of grain, of which more than 64 million tons are wheat. Such a volume of grain already fully meets domestic needs. At the same time, harvesting rates and yields are ahead of last year's level. This allows us to keep the projected harvest at 135 million tons.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance for the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District of increasing the efficiency of the industry through the introduction of advanced technologies, the use of high-quality domestic seeds and planting material, the development of land reclamation, and the purchase of new equipment.
"The North Caucasus will be one of the first to start winter sowing. I ask the leadership of the regions to check the availability of material and technical resources from farmers. Including seeds, fertilizers, and fuel. And, of course, it is impossible to allow a decrease in the area for the 2026 harvest," Patrushev summed up.
Alexander Gusev, Governor of the Voronezh Region, discussed the ecology and agro-industrial complex of the region at a meeting with Patrushev on July 23. Over the past five years, unauthorized landfills have been eliminated in the region, and processes for clearing reservoirs and overhauling hydraulic structures have been established. In 2024, the Voronezh Region became the leader in agricultural production in the Central Federal District (CFD) and ranked fourth in this indicator in the Russian Federation.
