The supply of natural gas from Russia to Armenia has been temporarily suspended due to emergency work on a gas pipeline located in Georgia. This was announced on August 22 by the press service of Gazprom Armenia.

"Due to the need for emergency recovery work on the Krasny Most-Sevkar-Berd (DN 1000) transit main gas pipeline in Georgia, natural gas supplies to Armenia will be temporarily suspended from 06:00 on August 22 to 06:00 on August 23," the statement said. on the official website.

According to the press service, during the specified period, uninterrupted and reliable gas supply to residents of the republic will be provided without restrictions at the expense of internal reserves and additional volumes of natural gas supplies from Iran.

Earlier, on June 27, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller announced in a statement following the annual shareholders' meeting that global gas consumption had increased by 20 billion cubic meters in the first five months of 2025. According to him, gas demand is growing worldwide. He stressed that by 2050, global gas consumption is projected to grow by about a third.
