The State Council (Parliament) of the Republic of Crimea has approved a new anthem. This was announced on August 22 by the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, in his Telegram channel.

It is specified that the authors of the composition were poet Ilya Reznik and ex-senator Olga Kovitidi, who won the creative competition.

"There is great symbolism in the fact that it was adopted today, on the Day of the National Flag of Russia. This highlights the struggle of generations of Crimeans to return to their homeland, the inextricable link between Crimea and Russia," he stressed, posting the lyrics of the song on his Telegram channel.

As explained by "Gazeta.Ru", a total of 94 versions of the anthem from all over Russia were submitted to the competition. When choosing a song, the commission did not know the authors of the words and music, respectively, the anthem was determined blindly.

Earlier, on March 13, Ivan Mezyuho, chairman of the Crimean regional Public organization Center for Political Education, noted that a new socio-cultural reality had formed in Crimea. He explained that now society has begun to be built on more sound and patriotic foundations. According to him, the situation in the civil sphere reached the point where foreign embassies officially funded public organizations and mass media in Crimea.
