The expert stated the importance of festivals for the development of gastronomic culture

Festivals play a significant role in the development of both gastronomic and consumer culture. Vyacheslav Mamontov, Executive Director of the Association of Beer, Malt and Beverage Producers, told Izvestia on August 24.

"In the modern history of the beer industry ("0.0%", "non—alcoholic", - Ed.), the culture of beer festivals developed quite actively in our country in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I remember at that time, large-scale urban events were held under the auspices of local governments in many regions of our country. At the same time, it should be noted that they were large—scale urban events, which included concerts, contests, and various sports events," the expert said.

According to Mamontov, among the most notable events were the festivals held in Moscow and St. Petersburg. He also recalled that similar events had been held in other regions, such as Sochi.

The expert drew attention to the fact that in recent years, interest in such events has been growing again, and even despite the existing restrictions, new festivals are appearing in different parts of the country.

"Based on the experience that brewers already have, as well as modern examples, in particular, of holding city wine events, we see and are confident that such events play an important role in the development of not only gastronomic culture, but also consumer culture," the source said.

The Baltika Fest alcohol-free food festival will be held on September 13 at the Igora Drive circuit in St. Petersburg. The event will be headlined by Russian rock legends "Chaif", the cult band of the 90s and 2000s "Disco Accident" and singer Marie Crymbreri.
