Baghdad announced the beginning of the withdrawal of the US military from the Ain al-Asad base

The first US military personnel left the largest Ain al-Asad base in Anbar province in western Iraq as part of the phased withdrawal of troops from the international anti-terrorist coalition, official sources in Baghdad told Izvestia.

The Iraqi Shafaq news agency clarifies that the Ain al-Asad base will be permanently closed on September 15.
