Revenues from privatization exceeded the annual plan by five times by July
In the first half of 2025, the privatization of federal property brought 27.5 billion rubles to the budget, the press service of the Federal Property Management Agency told Izvestia. For comparison, the treasury's 2025 revenue plan provides for 5.5 billion rubles, which is five times less.
Rosimushchestvo did not disclose the specific names of the companies. But from open sources, it can be assumed that we are talking about small transactions. For example, in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, objects worth 985 million rubles were sold during this time. The main part of the transactions concerned commercial facilities, which brought in almost 674 million.
Vladimir Chernov, analyst at Freedom Finance Global, noted that proceeds from privatization are usually planned with caution in order to minimize the risks of budget deficits in the event of delays in sales. He added that actual results often exceed expectations due to unexpected investor interest and favorable market conditions.
According to the updated budget data for this year, a deficit of 3.8 trillion rubles is expected. However, by the end of seven months, the shortfall is already at the level of 4.9 trillion.
