An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was recorded in the Kamchatka Territory. This was reported on August 21 in the Telegram channel of the Kamchatka branch of the FIT of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
It is specified that a magnitude 5.1 seismic event was recorded 214 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The epicenter of the natural disaster was at a depth of 29.6 km.
On the same day, an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 was recorded off the east coast of Kamchatka. The earthquake occurred at 23:21 local time (14:21 Moscow time), and the epicenter of the earthquake was located 205 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, in the Pacific Ocean.
In addition, seismologists had previously recorded a magnitude 5.6 earthquake off the eastern coast of Kamchatka.
