- Vucic discussed with the Russian Ambassador the upcoming meeting of the leaders of the two countries
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on August 21 that he had discussed with Russian Ambassador Alexander Botan-Kharchenko a meeting at the highest level of the leadership of the two countries as soon as possible.
"We have considered all topics of interest to both countries, especially in the light of the summit meeting between the leaders of the two countries, which is scheduled to take place in the very near future," the Serbian president wrote on Instagram (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation), the text of the message is quoted by the Tanjug agency.
According to Vucic, Serbia still intends to develop friendly relations with Russia and is determined to preserve peace in the western Balkans.
Earlier, on July 12, Vucic said that the country does not want to turn its back on Russia and will try to support it, despite the attitude of other countries towards Moscow. He added that he does not intend to attack Ukraine, as the country has no conflict with the Kiev authorities.
