On August 20, North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un received the commanders of the Korean People's Army who participated in the battles for the liberation of the Kursk region. This was reported by the KCNA news agency on August 21.
"On August 20, at the headquarters of the [Central Committee] of the Central Committee of the Party <...>, Kim Jong—un met with the main commanders of the units of the overseas operations of the Korean People's Army, who returned to Korea to participate in the ceremony of awarding State Gratitude to the DPRK," the agency reported.
It is noted that the leader of the DPRK heard a detailed report from the commanders on the fighting for the liberation of the Kursk region and highly appreciated the heroism of the country's army.
"Our army is a heroic army. <...> Our army has shown its characteristics without regret. This result cemented the title and reputation of the strongest army in the world and gave everyone clear recognition," KCNA quoted Kim Jong—un as saying.
Earlier, on August 15, Kim Jong-un announced the joint opposition of the Russian Federation and the DPRK to neo-Nazism. He also added that the Russian Federation and the DPRK have always been "on the right side of history" and have constantly fought for equality and justice.
