The staff of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra Museum took out the reliquaries of the saints. This was announced on August 20 by the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ).

"The staff of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra Museum takes out the reliquaries of our Reverend fathers of the Caves and performs some manipulations with them. The relics of saints, which believers were allowed to touch directly with great reverence only in some cases," the organization's Telegram channel says.

In May, lawyer Nikita Chekman, representing the interests of the UOC, announced that the new leadership of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra Reserve intends to restrict access of monks of the canonical UOC to the premises of the Lower Lavra. He stressed that such actions are illegal, as there is not a single decision in the court proceedings that has entered into legal force.
