The new special project "Traitors: from treason to terrorism" will be shown on REN TV on August 23

They started out as anti-corruption fighters and became terrorists. How did the "peaceful civil protest" evolve into direct calls for violence, support for terror, and fundraising for military equipment for the Ukrainian army? What is the role of the oligarchs in this, and why do people who have stolen billions of rubles in the country want Russia to be defeated? What connects Maria Pevchikh (an individual included in the lists of foreign agents, terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation), an activist of the Anti–Corruption Foundation (FBK; listed in the register of non-governmental organizations and recognized as an extremist organization whose activities are prohibited in Russia), Alexei Navalny (listed by Rosfinmonitoring in the register of organizations and individuals involved in extremist activities or terrorism) – with the British special services, and how do FBK employees incite their supporters to commit sabotage in Russia? How does the West coordinate the activities of fugitive oppositionists? And why did Trump stop giving them money?

An exclusive interview with REN TV was given by Andrey Matus, who made public the correspondence of ex-Yukos shareholder Leonid Nevzlin (an individual listed in the Russian Federation as foreign agents, terrorists and extremists) with the perpetrators of the attacks on representatives of FBK Leonid Volkov (an individual listed in the Russian Federation as foreign agents, terrorists and extremists) and the wife of economist Maxim Mironova (an individual listed in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent, terrorist, and extremist). Now Matus, who used to work for Nevzlin, is under state protection.

The authors of the film reveal the mechanisms of recruiting ordinary Russians – doctors, students, entrepreneurs – into the ranks of Western anti-Russian organizations. How does the gradual involvement in terrorist and sabotage activities occur? Points for completing tasks – who came up with terrorist acts in a playful way? And what reward did the Ukrainian special services give for setting fire to military enlistment offices, blocking railway tracks and destroying cars? REN TV has a list of organizations that, under anti-war slogans, involve young people in financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as recruit them to terrorist organizations.

Dmitry Zhukov, a doctor from Arkhangelsk, shared his revelations with the audience – he faces 8 years in prison for transferring 300 rubles to the account of the Anti-Corruption Fund. And he is far from the only one who was involved in a crime against his own will. The film also includes an exclusive interview with Sergey, a welder who, as he himself claims, foolishly transferred 500 rubles to this organization, and now he faces the same sentence.

How not to become a pawn in someone else's game? A new documentary answers this question by analyzing in detail the structure of the anti-Russian terrorist network and the methods it uses to influence people. The authors clearly show all the tricks so that the audience can avoid them.
